Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all programs and websites operated by Technix Academy, LLC. (“Technix Academy”) including but not limited to Technix Academy subscriptions, Technix Academy tuition plans, Technix Academy camps, Technix Academy workshops, Technix Academy birthdays, Technix Academy lessons, Technix Academy events, Technix Academy robotics teams, Technix Academy school contracts, and Technix Academy classes.
RELEASE FROM LIABILITY
The participant has permission to engage in all Technix Academy activities. The parent/guardian will be financially responsible for any medical attention needed during sessions or resulting from any injury received. The parent/guardian shall provide the sole insurance coverage for any medical treatment.
The parent/guardian agrees to release any records necessary for insurance purposes, with the understanding that every attempt will be made to contact the parent/guardian, or the emergency contact(s), before taking this action. The parent/guardian gives permission to Technix Academy to arrange necessary related emergency transportation for the participant.
I HEREBY WAIVE AND RELEASE TECHNIX ACADEMY, ITS OWNERS, AGENTS, PARTNERS, FACILITY PROVIDERS, AND EMPLOYEES FROM LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY OR ILLNESS INCURRED WHILE AT A TECHNIX ACADEMY LOCATION, WORKSHOP, CAMP, OR EVENT, RESULTING FROM ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS RISK OF INJURY TO THE PARTICIPANT AS A RESULT OF TECHNIX ACADEMY ACTIVITIES, AND KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISK OF SUCH INJURY. HOWEVER, I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM NOT RELEASING TECHNIX ACADEMY, ITS OWNERS, AGENTS, PARTNERS, FACILITY PROVIDERS, AND EMPLOYEES FROM GROSS NEGLIGENCE, RECKLESS CONDUCT OR INTENTIONALLY TORTIOUS CONDUCT. TO THE EXTENT THIS RELEASE CONFLICTS WITH STATE/PROVINCIAL LAW GOVERNING RELEASES, THIS RELEASE IS TO BE GIVEN THE FULLEST FORCE AND EFFECT PERMITTED UNDER STATE OR PROVINCIAL LAW. IF THIS RELEASE IS DETERMINED TO BE INVALID UNDER THE LAWS OF THE GOVERNING STATE OR PROVINCE, THEN THIS RELEASE SHALL BE STRICKEN FROM THIS CONTRACT, BUT ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
STATEMENT OF CONSENT / ARBITRATION CLAUSE
By authorizing the participant to attend Technix Academy programs, the parent/guardian must agree to the statement of consent and the participant code of conduct. The information we collect is CONFIDENTIAL and is used to aid our staff, the administrators, and instructors in assessing crucial information regarding the participant.
Upon registration, you will need to submit information to Technix Academy about the participant including allergies, illnesses, medications, dietary restrictions, immunizations, emergency contact information, gender and date of birth. We ask for a Primary Contact Person in case of emergency (in addition to a Secondary Contact Person) and information concerning these parties—such as name of contacts, phone numbers, email, and address. This information is to be filled out by the Parent/Guardian. If you have any questions, please contact us at 818-658-1127.
If your participant should need to be restricted from any activity, you will need to inform us with the specifics. You further certify that he/she is in good health and able to participate in the program activities. You authorize the staff to attend to health problems or injuries your son/daughter/ward may incur while attending Technix Academy. You acknowledge that you are responsible for medical expenses due to your son/daughter/ward’s illness or injury.
You will also be asked to identify any medical condition or history that would require special attention. You will need to certify that the named participant is physically able to participate in all activities, including physical or learning activities, and that you know of no restrictions, physical impairments, or any other factors, which in any manner may limit his/her participation in such a program.
ALLERGIES/DRUG REACTIONS AND MANAGEMENT OF REACTIONS
You will be asked to chronicle any known allergies. You will be asked if the participant is bringing an EPIPEN to Technix Academy. If so, you will be asked to verify the prescription and bring 2 (two) EPIPENS to Technix Academy; one for staff and one for your participant to carry on their person. We cannot admit your participant without 2 (two) EPIPENS; this is for your child’s safety. You may be asked for immunization information. You will need to verify that the health history you are providing is correct and complete, and that the participant has permission to engage in all activities except as noted. Participants will need to self-administer injections under observation of our staff.
You will be asked to enter all known illnesses or conditions which the participant has or has had including illness, allergies, and drug reactions. You will be asked to fill out a list of prescribed medications your son/daughter/ward MUST take while attending Technix Academy. You acknowledge that the medicine and/or vitamins are to be in the possession of the Location Manager, delivered to the Location Manager in original containers that identify, in English, the prescribing physician (if a prescription drug), the name of the medication, the dosage, any side effect, and the frequency of administration, and will be dispensed as instructed by you. Exception: INHALERS AND DIABETIC TESTING KITS. All medication brought MUST match what is listed in the participant’s records held at Technix Academy. Any discrepancies may result in long delays at checkin and may require the cancellation of the session, without a refund. Our staff needs your full cooperation. Thank you for understanding. In most cases, our personnel are not professional nurses or doctors, and have not been trained in medicine. Our personnel have, however, been trained in our medication administration procedures.
You understand that if your participant is taking medication, all medications must be brought to Technix Academy in the original container. The original container must identify (in English) the prescribing physician (if a prescription drug), the name of the medication, the dosage, any side effect, and the frequency of administration. Participants needing injections (insulin, hormones, etc.) will need to self administer the medication under observation of our staff. Technix Academy staff is not trained in this area. Upon arrival at our locations, all medication must be placed in the care of our Location Manager. Medication brought to Technix Academy MUST match what is listed in the participant’s records held at Technix Academy. Our staff will only administer the dosage as listed on the container. Please provide a physician’s note if your participant’s dosage differs from what is listed. You understand that any discrepancies may result in long delays at check-in and may require the cancellation of the session, without a refund. Please refrain from bringing nonessential vitamins and/or supplements to our locations. Our staff kindly appreciates your full cooperation. You understand that it is the responsibility of all parents/guardians to retrieve their participant’s medication from the staff at the end of the session
If medication is not picked up within two weeks, all medication(s) that are still left behind after that grace period will be disposed of at the end of each session. Should Technix Academy dispose of any medication pursuant to this policy, Technix Academy shall not be responsible for any damages or liabilities related in any way to such medication, including, but not limited to, replacement cost of the medication and any damages resulting from participant’s failure to administer such medication. Technix Academy, by law, is not allowed to mail medication, so please be sure to retrieve all medication before you leave Technix Academy.
If the participant has a dietary restriction, you will be asked to inform us.
If a participant requires an aide at school then he/she will need to be accompanied by an aide at Technix Academy, and that aide will need to be present for the duration of the session.
You will be responsible for charges for room and board for the aide (if applicable) and according to Technix Academy policy, the aide must be age 18 or older, may not be a family member, and must achieve a favorable result on a criminal background check, as well as interview with the Technix Academy Administrators prior to attending Technix Academy programs. If the above situation pertains to you, you will be asked to contact the Technix Academy office at least twenty (20) business days prior to the start of a camp so that there is sufficient time to organize and run the background check. A background check processing fee will be assessed to the customer for the aide. The stated fee is $25 for programs in states other than New York. These are direct costs that Technix Academy passes on. Meals are not provided for aides. If you would like your aide to receive meals, that can be arranged by contacting Technix Academy at 818-658-1127.
Student Dismissal
You acknowledge that upon observation of your participant at the Technix Academy program, if it is determined by the administrator that the program is not a suitable and/or productive environment for your participant, Technix Academy may dismiss the participant and no refund will be issued. Technix Academy will exhaust every opportunity for an excellent relationship with each and every participant, but in some rare cases Technix Academy may not be a compatible environment for every participant.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property.
You will be responsible for personal or property damage incurred by your son/daughter/ward while at Technix Academy. Technix Academy is not responsible for personal belongings lost or damaged by casualty, theft, laundry, etc. You agree to accept full responsibility, financial or otherwise, for the conduct of your participant—including damage to equipment or facilities. Technix Academy does not owe a duty to protect its participants from theft or damage to property. You will not hold Technix Academy responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items brought to Technix Academy. If any theft of or damage to your son/daughter/ward’s property should occur, or in association with the program, you understand that Technix Academy will not be held responsible.
Physical Activities
Physical and Recreational Activities such as sports, outdoor, and other activities contain inherent risks You are aware that your son/daughter/ward may be participating in activities such as sports, hiking, swimming or other recreational activities, and that such activities contain inherent risks of injuries. You assume all risks and understand that Technix Academy, its owners, agents, partners, facility providers, and employees will not be held liable for damages or injuries associated with recreational activities, including any and all claims based on negligence. You understand that you must report any and all injuries immediately to the program administrator. You give Technix Academy staff members permission to take your son/daughter/ward to places of relevant interest, the swimming pool (where available), guided tours, and facilities within walking distance of Technix Academy, both on and off campus.
Photos, Videos, and Media
You understand that all images, testimonials, photos, video and audio taken at or in connection with Technix Academy are the sole and exclusive property of Technix Academy. As a condition of enrollment, you must understand and authorize that photos may be taken of your student. You also understand and agree that said content may be used by Technix Academy in promotional materials, marketing collateral, and online media. These images, testimonials, photos, videos and audio may be shared and used by corporate partners, the media, or other organizations who work with Technix Academy. You understand that Technix Academy, its owners, agents, partners, facility providers, and employees will not be held liable for damages and injuries associated with said publishing, including any and all claims based on negligence. Please note that if Technix Academy is contacted by the press, a participant’s full name may be used in print, radio, TV and other mediums. We may not have the opportunity to contact all families for permission before the press arrives, so we have created a blanket policy. We thank you for understanding. You understand that all projects and work created while at Technix Academy may be used by Technix Academy in promotional materials and other print and online media. These projects may be shared and used by corporate partners, the media, or other organizations who work with Technix Academy. You agree that any digital movie created during the Technix Academy course may be submitted to a film festival by Technix Academy and/or any of the participant(s) in the group that created the movie. You understand that Technix Academy, its owners, agents, partners, facility providers, and employees will not be held liable for damages and injuries associated with said publishing, including any and all claims based on negligence.
Content Ratings of Materials
You understand that movies played at any of the programs run by Technix Academy are rated PG and PG-13 and selected at the sole discretion of Technix Academy You understand that video and computer games used at any of the programs run by Technix Academy are selected at the sole discretion of Technix Academy staff.
You understand that some Technix Academy game development courses require creation or use of an online account during instructional time, or will require an online account to be created for access to games and networked game play Parental/Guardian consent is required and granted to create Valve Steam accounts (for students under the age of 13) to activate takehome software.
Games Rated “T” and “M” – Our Responsibility:
Technix Academy is the industry leader in offering various technology courses, including courses and activities revolving around gaming. In order to offer the most cutting edge experience for participants, Technix Academy has adopted the policy of allowing the use of some select games rated “E” for Everyone, “T” for Teen, and “M” for Mature to be used as part of the curriculum. You understand that while Technix Academy takes its corporate responsibility and Technix Academy family values very seriously, it cannot guarantee that younger participants at Technix Academy will avoid complete contact with the games rated “T” for Teen, or “M” for Mature. Technix Academy will make a concerted effort to minimize exposure to any games not appropriate for these age groups. You understand that Technix Academy defines “Teen Participants” as those attending a course designed for ages 13-18.
Games Rated M – Definition and Release:
Some of the game titles your participant may be exposed to are rated “M” (Mature) by the ESRB (Entertainment Rating Software Board). An ESRB “M” rating means the games have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language, including, but not limited to extreme and/or realistic depictions of blood, gore, the mutilation of body parts, weapons, and depictions of human injury and death, non-explicit depictions of sexual behavior, and/or explicit and/or frequent use of profanity. You voluntarily assume any and all risks, known or unknown, associated with your participant’s access to “M” rated game content at an Technix Academy program and you hereby agree not to feign ignorance, sue or otherwise complain and irrevocably and unconditionally release, waive and forever discharge Technix Academy, its licensors, suppliers, game developers and publishers, their past, present and future parents, subsidiaries (whether or not wholly-owned), affiliates, divisions, agents, representatives, employees, licensees, licensors, successors and assigns, jointly and individually (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Releases”), and agree to hold the Releases harmless, from any and all manner of liabilities, claims and demands of any kind or nature whatsoever, in law or equity, whether known or unknown, which you (or your assigns, agents and/or representatives) ever had, now have, or in the future may have against the Releases, including, but not limited to claims arising out of or related to your participant’s exposure to an “M” rated game or your decision to participate or have your participant(s) participate in an Technix Academy program that includes in its curriculum an “M” rated game. This release shall be binding on all of your successors in interest and heirs. You acknowledge and specifically agree to waive the benefits of any statute or other applicable law that provides that a general release does not extend to claims that the releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his/her favor at the time of executing the release, which if known would have affected his/her willingness to grant the release.
Participant Projects
Coding and Software Projects
You understand that Technix Academy allows participants to take non physical, digital, and virtual personal projects home. If a participant takes a project home, there will be instances when the project will not work on an individual’s home system. In these rare cases, Technix Academy does not take responsibility for non-functioning/ non-compatible/ in-complete projects. It is the responsibility of the parent and participant to test the participant’s project on the Technix Academy computer in the location before going home at the end of the session. Refunds will not be issued for non functioning/ non compatible/ non complete projects.
Robotics and Electrical Engineering Projects
You understand that Technix Academy does NOT allow participants to take any robotics, electrical engineering, and any other physical parts home. The robotics, electrical engineering, and any other physical parts that make up a students project is property of Technix Academy and may not be taken home.
Computer Building Projects
Technix Academy has a special Computer Building program that allows students to build computers. You understand that Technix Academy does NOT allow participants to take any physical parts home. In the event that the parts that make up the project were brought to Technix Academy and were purchased by the participant or parent/guardian of the participant, Technix Academy allows participants to take their projects home. If a participant takes a project home, there will be instances when the project will not work at the individual’s home. In these rare cases, Technix Academy does not take responsibility for non-functioning/ non-compatible/ in-complete projects. It is the responsibility of the parent and participant to test the participant’s project at Technix Academy in the location before going home at the end of the session. Refunds will not be issued for non functioning/ non compatible/ non complete projects.
Self-Driving Students
If the participant is old enough to drive with a valid state driver license, he/she may bring a vehicle to Technix Academy. It is understood that students are not allowed to transport other students in their vehicles under any circumstances. Additionally, the participant is responsible for arranging permitted parking on campus. Parking tickets will not be reimbursed. If theft or damage should occur to the vehicle while at one of our locations, or in transit to or from Technix Academy, Technix Academy will not be held responsible for any damages, and you hereby release Technix Academy from any such liability.
Lesson Cancelation
You understand that Technix Academy reserves the right to cancel a session. If a session is cancelled, you understand that you may enroll your son/daughter/ward in another session. You understand that if Technix Academy is forced to close a session based on a recommendation by the local Health Services Department (in the case of pandemic flu etc.) or due to other acts of nature, no refunds will be issued. The tuition paid for a cancelled camp can be applied to a voucher that can be used during that same year (as space permits) or will be carried over to the next year.
Release of Liability
ON BEHALF OF YOUR SON/DAUGHTER/WARD, THE PARENT/GUARDIAN HEREBY RELEASES TECHNIX ACADEMY, ITS OWNERS, AGENTS, PARTNERS, FACILITY PROVIDERS AND EMPLOYEES FROM LIABILITY (INCLUDING CLAIMS BASED UPON NEGLIGENCE) FOR DAMAGE OR INJURY TO YOUR SON/DAUGHTER/WARD OR DAMAGE OF ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY, ACCEPTING YOURSELF THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL SUCH DAMAGE OR INJURY WHICH MAY RESULT DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM ANY NEGLIGENT ACTS OR ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH TECHNIX ACADEMY. HOWEVER, YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE NOT RELEASING TECHNIX ACADEMY, ITS OWNERS, AGENTS, PARTNERS, FACILITY PROVIDERS, AND EMPLOYEES FROM GROSS NEGLIGENCE, RECKLESS CONDUCT OR INTENTIONALLY TORTIOUS CONDUCT. TO THE EXTENT THIS RELEASE CONFLICTS WITH STATE/PROVINCIAL LAW GOVERNING RELEASES, THIS RELEASE IS TO BE GIVEN THE FULLEST FORCE AND EFFECT PERMITTED UNDER STATE/PROVINCIAL LAW. SHOULD ANY PART OF THIS CONTRACT BE FOUND INVALID OR NOT ENFORCEABLE BY A COURT OF LAW, THEN THE REMAINING PORTION SHALL CONTINUE TO BE VALID AND IN FORCE. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS RISK OF INJURY TO THE NAMED PARTICIPANT AS A RESULT OF ACTIVITIES, AND KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISK OF SUCH INJURY. BY ENTERING “MY ACCOUNT”, IT CERTIFIES THAT YOU, THE PARENT/GUARDIAN, AGREE TO THE TERMS STATED WITHIN, AND WILL TAKE THE TIME TO ENSURE THAT ALL INFORMATION IN THE REQUIRED FORM WILL BE UPDATED AND ACCURATE TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE, PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE TECHNIX ACADEMY PROGRAM. THIS AGREEMENT CONTAINS A BINDING ARBITRATION PROVISION WHICH MAY BE ENFORCED BY BOTH PARTIES.
ARBITRATION IN LIEU OF LITIGATION:
You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement, your participant’s participation at Technix Academy, or otherwise arising between the parties, including, without limitation, any participants statutorily created or protected rights, as permitted by applicable state/provincial or federal laws, shall be settled by arbitration in the state/province and county in which the learning activity was held, in accordance with the Commercial Rules of the American Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. The prevailing party in the arbitration shall be entitled to recover expenses including costs and reasonable attorney’s fees associated therewith. Should any part of this contract be found invalid or not enforceable by a court of law, then the remaining portion shall continue to be valid and in force. You hereby acknowledge that you understand the terms of the ARBITRATION AGREEMENT, that you understand it, and agree to comply with all of its terms and provisions.
TECHNIX ACADEMY PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT
Technix Academy has the right to dismiss any individuals if their actions or attitudes are deemed detrimental, as set forth below in the Technix Academy Code of Conduct, to the general atmosphere of the location and that there shall be no refunds issued for such dismissal. You agree that you have read through, understand, and agree to the Technix Academy Code of Conduct. You further agree that you will review the Technix Academy Code of Conduct with your participant(s) that is/are participating in a program run by Technix Academy. As the parent/guardian of a participant attending a Technix Academy program, you understand that your participant must act in a way that is in keeping with the Technix Academy Code of Conduct. You also understand that your participant can be dismissed from the learning activity if his/her actions or attitudes seem to be harmful to the atmosphere or to other participants at the location.
You understand that your participant can be dismissed, without a refund, from a learning activity for the following reasons:
- Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco use;
- Viewing pornography or any inappropriate material on the Internet;
- Inappropriate language (swearing, using bad words, racial slurs);
- Physical violence or threats of physical violence against other participants or Technix Academy;
- Damage to facilities or Technix Academy equipment, Stealing property of others; Inappropriate use of – equipment;
- Sexual Harassment of other participants or Technix Academy staff;
- Hacking;
- Bullying;
If possession of illegal substances or weapons is suspected, participant(s) will be subject to search and seizure. If possession of illegal substances or weapons is found, participants(s) will be dismissed from the location and learning activity immediately. Participant (and therefore parent/guardian) is responsible for any personal items brought to and loaned at the location. Participant promises to respect all Technix Academy staff members and participants while treating the facilities and equipment with great care.
Bringing electronic devices to Technix Academy, including Smartphone, Laptop, Digital Camera, Handheld Console, etc.
We do NOT require students to bring any devices to Technix Academy. However, in some courses, the participant may want to bring their own devices. Additionally, we understand that parents may want to communicate with their students via cell phone. Should the participant bring a personal device to the program, please note:
- Technix Academy is NOT responsible for lost, damaged or stolen equipment—student and/or parent/guardian assume all risk.
- Personal devices may NOT be used during instructional times—unless they are approved by the instructor.
- We recommend that personal devices be locked in a backpack. Cell phones/Smart phones can be kept on hand but must be in silent mode during instructional times.
- Accessing the internet via a local WiFi hotspot is the sole responsibility of the participant. Participant and parent/guardian must comply with all terms & conditions, and assume all financial risk.
- Viewing inappropriate content (including sexual content, inappropriate violence, racism, bullying, etc.) online may result in immediate dismissal from Technix Academy, without a refund.
- Any attempts at computer “hacking” will result in immediate dismissal from Technix Academy, without a refund. Local authorities will be contacted when warranted.
Parent/Guardian and participant understand that Technix Academy reserves the right to dismiss participant from the session without any prior warning for violating any of the terms of the Participant Code of Conduct.
Social Media
You understand that in general, Technix Academy views social networking sites (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), personal websites, and blogs positively and respects the rights of our participants to use them as a medium for self expression. Technix Academy does, however, also recognize the potential dangers associated with the abuse of social networking sites, and has set forth this policy. You further understand that for the safety of our participants and to protect the privacy of our staff, Technix Academy requires that participants observe the following policies:
- Any projects created by participants and hosted, run, and/or held on Technix Academy devices may not contain links to websites containing personal information or inappropriate material.
- Users must follow the terms of use of the said social site, including following the specified age policies.
- Technix Academy does not allow the use of its company logo or those of their corporate partners or community partners on any personal website, social networking group, or blog without written permission by Technix Academy or its corporate or community partners.
- Participants should also be aware that under no circumstances is staff allowed to give personal contact information for social networking sites, personal websites, blogs, or instant messenger programs. This must be arranged by the participant’s parent/guardian through the Location Manager at Technix Academy.
- For the safety of our students and to protect the privacy of our staff, Technix Academy has implemented a policy to govern interactions outside of Technix Academy. Staff is not permitted to communicate privately with, give out personal contact info to, or become social media friends with participants under the age of 18. The participant’s parent/guardian must first contact Technix Academy’s Location Manager to grant permission for the participant to contact the staff member, and Technix Academy will then contact the staff member on the participant’s behalf. Should you have any questions regarding this policy, please email info@TechnixAcademy.com.
- Participants may not give their personal contact information to a staff member. To correspond with instructors after a session has ended, the participant’s parent must contact the Location Manager to grant permission for the participant to contact the staff member. Technix Academy will then contact the staff member on behalf of the participant.
NON-TRADITIONAL, BLENDED EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Technix Academy believes in a nontraditional, blended learning environment. Typically, Technix Academy teaches different courses simultaneously within the same location. The location may be noisy, crazy, and high-energy.
Age ranges may vary. We remind all participants that during learning activities, this is a learning and fun environment, and we typically blend traditional activities with our technology courses.
HOW TO CANCEL
Subscription Cancelations
subscription cancellations can be submitted anytime and take effect for the immediately following billing cycle. There are no refunds for Technix Academy subscription and subscription renewals.
Camp Cancelations
Camp cancellations can be submitted in writing to the Technix Academy office no later than 4 weeks before the start of the confirmed camp week/session. The non-refundable deposit amount for Technix Academy Camps is $200 per session, per participant.
Tuition Plans Cancelations
There are no refunds for Technix Academy tuition plans.

HOW TO PAUSE SUBSCRIPTIONS
subscription pauses can be submitted anytime and take effect immediately. A student may not attend Technix Academy for lessons while subscription is on pause, the student may resume attendance when the pause has ended and billing has resumed. Pauses can be submitted for up to 2 months at a time. Up to 100 days can be paused during each year from the start of a subscription. subscription, and its associated billing, automatically resumes after a pause ends. subscription can be requested to resume early, making the pause end early, however, the original length of the pause counts towards the 100 days maximum per year.

Tuition Plan Hour Expiration
You understand that Technix Academy Tuition Plans, Bundles, and By-The-Hour lesson time is a purchase of hours usable at our Locations for lessons. If your participant does not have another lesson after 6 months from the last lesson done at a Technix Academy location, any hours remaining on a participants account purchased through a tuition plan will be forfeit and expired with no refund.
CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT POLICY
All financial transactions are made and quoted in U.S. Dollars. We have a strict refund policy due to the high costs of hardware, software, facilities and staff resources. To reserve space at a Technix Academy camp, a nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $200 is required per session, per participant. The deposit will be applied toward the customer’s total balance. For Technix Academy subscriptions, the entire tuition is nonrefundable.
If a deposit is paid by credit card and additional payment instructions are not received three weeks prior to the scheduled camp start date, you authorize Technix Academy to charge the balance due as well as any late fees to the credit card on record. A $25 returned check fee will be assessed for any checks returned. Payment not received within 2 weeks (14 days) of a start confirmed camp week/session is subject to cancellation without a refund. Technix Academy reserves the right to send any unpaid balances over 90 days to a collection agency. We do not want to send anyone to a collection agency, so let’s work together. If authorized to do so at the point of registration, Technix Academy will automatically bill your credit card on record in order to keep your account current and avoid late charges.
If any upgrades are made at a camp (i.e. adding lunch, adding the overnight option, switching courses, or adding weekends stays) you authorize Technix Academy to bill the credit card on file, or make alternate arrangements for payment.
No refunds will be given at the Technix Academy center in the event that a session is canceled. In the rare circumstance that a cancellation of a session does occur, students will be taken to an alternate venue or will be given additional instructional time.
REGISTRATION CHANGES
No fee or penalty will be assessed for making changes to a camp location, date or course 4 weeks prior to the start of the scheduled session. If there are 4 weeks (28 days) or less until the start of the scheduled camp, a $35 change fee applies.
REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY
No refunds will be issued for early withdrawal or dismissal due to absences (for any reason) including sickness, behavioral dismissals, power failures, weather, and unforeseeable events not within the control of Technix Academy or other acts of nature. If participants leave a camp early for any reason, the tuition is not prorated and no refund will be issued, including partial refunds. Balance payments, less the non refundable deposit, are refundable until 3 weeks prior to the start of the confirmed camp week. No refund will be issued for cancellations or withdrawals within 3 weeks of the start of confirmed camp week.
SPECIAL PROMOTIONS & DISCOUNTS PROMOTIONAL SPECIALS
Technix Academy runs promotional specials from time to time. For “specials”, the client will receive the published discount amount with use of the corresponding promotional code, limit one discount per participant. The session balance must be paid in full at the time of registration to receive the published discount amount. All applicable cancellation/refund policies apply. All promotional codes and referral codes must be submitted at the time of registration. Technix Academy does not honor retroactive adjustments. The total discounts received cannot exceed the total cost of the products purchased. All promotional specials are not valid for Technix Academy 365.
SIBLINGS
When registering for siblings, siblings may share the time purchased with tuition plans, resulting in lower costs due to the larger number of hours having discounts.The total discounts received cannot exceed the total cost of the products purchased. Sibling discounts are not valid for Technix Academy Camps and Workshops.
PROMOTIONAL CODE DISCOUNTS
Utilize a valid Promotional Code and receive a discount (limit one per participant). Technix Academy will apply the discount promotional code with the greatest amount to each account. Note that some Promotional Codes require that the session balance be paid in full at the time of registration to receive the promotional discount. All promotional codes and referral codes must be submitted at the time of registration. The total discounts received cannot exceed the total cost of the products purchased.
REFER-A-FRIEND: DETAILS
There is no limit to the number of people a client can refer.
- Earn 75 Technix Academy points for each new participant you refer who registers for Technix Academy subscription.
- The referred participant must be a new participant and cannot have previously attended Technix Academy.
- The new participant MUST enter their Referral Code at the time of registration. Codes will not be accepted after the participant is already registered.
- You can refer as many eligible participants as you like, quickly and easily through your account.
- Referral codes can only be used once per participant. Please note that Technix Academy will credit the referral based off of the referral code that the new client enters at the time of registration.
- The referral program does not apply to siblings, it is for each account (since they are eligible for the Sibling & MultiMonth Discount).
- Participants may not refer each other to both qualify for the referral program.
- Technix Academy reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions on the website at any time.
PRIVACY POLICY
In keeping with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) – the law that protects Children’s online privacy – and the guidelines of the Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Technix Academy limits the collection of personal information from kids. TechnixAcademy.com is a website directed to parents and guardians of our participants. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. We screen users who wish to provide personal information in order to prevent users under the age of thirteen from providing such information. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of thirteen, we will delete such information from our records. We do NOT condition a child’s participation in online activities to provide personally identifiable information or provide children with the opportunity to post or otherwise transmit any identifiable personal contact information without parental consent.
PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES
We reserve the right to modify our Privacy Policy at any time. In the event that we make a material modification to our policy, we will change the “Updated” date at the bottom of this page to reflect the date of the modification.
WE DO NOT SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES BUT FOR THE EXCEPTIONS STATED BELOW
Technix Academy does not share email addresses or any other personal information with third parties interested in contacting you or collecting information about you. Furthermore, we DO NOT sell, rent, give or trade personal information we collect from online, phone or paper registrations and/or catalog requests.
HOW INFORMATION IS STORED
We store your personal information in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. Your personal information is accessible only by you and select company employees. These employees are bound by duties of confidentiality and have access to select databases, which are further protected by Technix Academy and password requirements. In addition to internal transaction databases, your personal information is stored in a Technix Academy User Account. You may view or update information related to your Technix Academy User Account by contacting Technix Academy Your user information is protected from unauthorized use by a username and password. It is your responsibility to protect the confidentiality of the username and password. Technix Academy will not be responsible for any lost, stolen or disclosed username and password information.
HOW INFORMATION IS USED
We make the Technix Academy User functionality available to you in order to expedite your transactions on our site and to provide you with better service. In order for you to complete a registration or conduct other transactions on our site, we will require the creation of an Technix Academy User account, which requires that you submit certain personal information to Technix Academy. Additionally, we may share pertinent personal information with our relevant employees for the limited purpose of enabling them to fulfill your requests (e.g. administrators, instructors and school liaisons). Further, we may contact you regarding the status of your transactions on our site or to inform you of maintenance to your accounts (Technix Academy User) or website updates.
OTHER INFORMATION WE GATHER
When you request a catalog or register for a Technix Academy program, we ask for certain basic information to service you: name, shipping and billing addresses, email address, phone number and payment information.
Your email address is required information when submitting payment via our online registration system or requesting a catalog. We are required by the major credit card companies to ask for this information in order to better protect your online transactions. If you request our customized email news and provide your email address, Technix Academy will send our latest news directly to you. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you can unsubscribe by using the instructions provided at the end of the messages.
YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AND TRANSACTIONS ARE SECURE
For your convenience, you may have us bill you or you can pay for your orders by credit card or check. If you choose to pay by credit card, we will keep your credit card information on file, but we do not display that information at the online registration site. We use stateoftheart Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to safeguard and protect your personal information and transactions over the internet. Your information, including your credit card information, is encrypted and cannot be read as it travels over the Internet.
BACKGROUND CHECKS
At Technix Academy, we require criminal background checks for staff who will be onsite for any duration of time. We take the safety and security of our participants very seriously and require criminal background checks for anyone authorized by Technix Academy to be in contact with the participant for the duration of the session.
LINKS TO OTHER SITES
It is important to note that our site contains links to other sites outside TechnixAcademy.com. These sites may not follow the same privacy practices that we do. They may also send their own cookies to your computer to collect data and make use of it in ways that Technix Academy does not. Any personal information that is given to them is at your option and is not controlled by our privacy policy. We encourage you to read these businesses’ privacy policies if you should have any concerns about how they will care for your personal information.
CARPOOL TERMS & CONDITIONS
By using the Technix Academy carpool application, you acknowledge your acceptance of all of the terms of use described in these Terms. You consent to have us provide your information to the other users of this carpool application. The Technix Academy carpool application is to assist our clients in identifying transportation alternatives and potential partners for travel to and from our centers and camps. Technix Academy cannot and does not ensure your safety. Please be responsible. You must ensure your own personal safety. Technix Academy recommends that you do not allow your participant to travel with someone you do not trust. Technix Academy cannot and will not assess the suitability of individuals participating in this program and declines any liability associated with it. In no event will Technix Academy or its employees be liable for any injuries or losses by any party related to the use of this carpool application.
Technix Academy cannot and does not ensure the lawful behavior of the people exchanging information through this carpool application. You take full responsibility for ensuring your personal safety when interacting with other people whom you meet through this carpool application. Technix Academy will not be a party to mediations and/or any negotiations of disputes involving travel partners. Technix Academy cannot and will not play any role in managing payments between the travel partners.
Technix Academy is not liable to any consequence arising out of any decisions made by anyone using this carpool application. Contacting other users and making postings are permitted only for personal use for the purpose of arranging a ride. You agree to communicate with other users in a civil, polite manner. No abusive language will be tolerated. Technix Academy reserves the right to remove the information for any user who does not comply with the Technix Academy spirit, as judged by its employees, without any liability whatsoever to Technix Academy.
You have the choice at any time to add or remove your contact information from our Carpool list. Technix Academy is not responsible for unwanted communication after the request is made to participate in the Technix Academy Carpool list.
Technix Academy is not responsible for any late or missed rides to or from camp. If camp is missed due to missed or late rides, the tuition will not be prorated, refunded or transferred to another camp week or season.
You hereby acknowledge that Technix Academy is providing this carpool application as a service to clients so that they can exchange contact information and set up rides to and from camp. Technix Academy is not acting as an agent in the exchange of this information.
AGE POLICY NOTICE
Technix Academy offers programs designed for participants ages 6-18, including but not limited to Technix Academy tuition plans, Technix Academy subscriptions, and Technix Academy camps. Participants who are age 18 may interact with participants ages 6-18 throughout the duration of each program session and hereby agree to abide by all of Technix Academy policies. You understand that by registering for an Technix Academy program that accepts 18 year old participants, that your participant may interact and/or room with a participant that is 18 years old. Technix Academy reserves the right to not allow an 18 year old participant to attend one of our programs if they do not complete or pass a criminal and sexual offender background check prior to attending our program. A background check processing fee will be assessed to the customer. The stated fee is $35. These are direct costs that Technix Academy passes on.
RIGHTS RESERVED
Technix Academy reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions on the website at any time. We reserve the right to cancel a session if participation numbers are not adequate. On rare occasions, the software and hardware we use at locations may change without notice, and we will strive to find suitable software and hardware alternatives.
CHANGES TO SERVICES
Technix Academy may change these provisions at any time. For example, we may add, delete, or amend terms of functions.
